Challenges

Confusing Filter Layout: Users struggled to understand and navigate the filters, leading to frustration.

Inefficient Filtering Logic: The system didn’t always return relevant results, making it hard to discover activities that matched users’ preferences.

High Cognitive Load: Too many options and inconsistent organization caused decision fatigue.

Impact on Engagement: Users often abandoned the app or missed activities due to difficulty in finding them.

Opportunities

Improve Discovery: Make it easier for users to find activities that match their interests.

Simplify User Flow: Streamline filter selection and results to reduce cognitive load.

Increase Engagement: By showing relevant activities efficiently, users are more likely to explore and book.

Consistency Across Views: Standardize the filtering logic to create a predictable and intuitive experience.

User Research

Key findings

Users wanted quick access to the most relevant filters without scrolling through a long list.
Filter logic needed to reflect common user goals.
Clear feedback on applied filters and results improved confidence and satisfaction.

The Solution

The final design delivered a clean, intuitive filters interface in the Activities view. Filters were grouped logically by category type, Locaion, Age Group, and Venue, with interactive toggles and clear labels. Applied filters were prominently displayed, and results updated dynamically, reducing clicks and scrolls. The solution improved discoverability, decreased cognitive load, and provided a seamless path from browsing to booking activities.
